Research Employers

Why is it important that you have information about an employer? The information that you gather will help you determine if you are interested in employment with that company, and it will be beneficial when you go for your interview. When you know about a company, it will show in your answers to the interviewer's questions, and in the questions you ask of the interviewer. You will come across as a stronger candidate for employment than someone who knows nothing about the company or business

For each company, try to locate the following information:

  • Services and/or products the company provides or produces
  • Age of the company and how it is growing
  • Current issues or events
  • Company location and size
  • What the career opportunities are for this job
