All permanent-party personnel (military and civilian) should be assigned a sponsor prior to departing from their current base or Technical Training School. A sponsor will provide you information and answer your questions about the area, the base, and your unit. If you have not heard from a sponsor, please contact your gaining unit. If you need further assistance, please contact the Fairchild AFB Airman and Family Readiness Center at 509-247-2246, DSN 657-2246

Military Spouses Residency Relief Act (MSRRA)
Amends the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA). Among other things, the SCRA gives servicemembers the ability to maintain a home of residency, regardless of placement by military orders, which has given servicemembers income tax relief and also made a change in driver's licenses and vehicle registration unnecessary. The bill gives military spouses the same benefits as they relocate with their active-duty spouses. This legislation does not apply to dependent children. The law is complicated and fact specific, and because its effect will depend on the interpretations of each state, spouses are encouraged to seek free, confidential advice from a legal assistance office. The Fairchild AFB Legal Office phone number is 509-247-2838
