Veteran's Crisis Line Ensures veterans in crisis have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors. Call the Crisis Line number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), and press "1" to be routed to the Veteran's Crisis Line Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Extensive website includes Benefits booklet, and much more for veterans, their families and survivors. College Ave, Spokane WA; 509-477-3690 Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR) Veterans who received disability ratings of 20 percent or lower from their military medical boards are eligible for a review of their medical disability ratings. The PDBR was implemented to ensure the accuracy and fairness of combined disability ratings of 20% or less assigned to service members who were discharged between September 11, 2001 and December 31, 2009. At the 30 percent threshold, veterans qualify for medical retirement, which carries lifetime retired pay, medical care and other benefits. The PDBR process is slow - applications take an average of 430 days to process - but it has resulted in ratings upgrades for nearly 50 percent of those who have applied Coaching Into Care Works with family members or friends who become aware of their veteran's post-deployment difficulties-and supports their efforts to find help for the veteran Veterans Service Organizations (VSO) Serve a range of needs for veterans. Many may be able to assist the separating or retiring military member with filing a VA Claim for Disability. They may also advocate for veterans' rights and benefits, offer emergency financial assistance, insurance or scholarships, and a social setting for their members.
