This section of the website provides information on topics that apply to military families: tips for those new to the military and military culture; how to deal with all things deployment - from receiving orders, to saying goodbye, to welcoming home your service member; how to deal with stress and how to get help; spouse education, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill; children’s education issues and child care; and family issues like finances, spouse careers, and moving

Your Benefits
Military families, retirees, and survivors are eligible for many benefits. This section is a guide to understanding what military family members are eligible for. Covered in this section are topics related to TRICARE, the Exceptional Family Member Program and special needs, Wounded Warriors, survivors, retirees, Veterans Affairs benefits, adoption, relationships, legal issues, and shopping at commissaries and exchanges

Programs
NMFA has created several programs to sustain military families:
 - The military spouse scholarship program recognizes the importance of military spouse education and the difficulties that come with achieving higher education due to moves and expenses. Each year, hundreds of military spouses receive a scholarship to help them on the path to a successful career
 - The Operation Purple® Program includes traditional summer camps, teen leadership programs, family retreats, overseas day clinics, and camps for families of the wounded
 - Every year, one family is named the Military Family of the Year and two Volunteers are recognized with an award for service to the Association

Publications
Publications range from feature stories by military families to important news: in-depth Association newsletter, Monthly Bulletin, Military Family Topics - with information from the Department of Defense, TRICARE, and Congress. Sign up for Spouse Club eNews and receive important news all in one place
