Federal Civil Service Opportunities for students or recent graduates (up to 6 years)

Programs and opportunities are difficult to find. The information below provides some resources.  Other good resources are through your college, friends, professors, alumni, and any other networking sources

Most internships are not posted on USAJobs, but may be on each Federal agency website

The Federal internship programs are changing; changes will likely occur through 2013, and all Federal internships will be part of the Pathways Program

Recent Graduates Program (replaces FCIP, now obsolete)
In effect in 2012
May apply up to 2 years after graduation; 6 years for veterans

Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP); will be replaced by the Internship Program 
 - Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP)
 - Student Career Experience Program (SCEP)

•·     Presidential Management Fellows (PMF)
Premier program for leadership development in the Federal civil service for individuals who have completed a graduate-level course of study within past 2 years (6 years for veterans).
Non-competitive appointment to a full-time permanent position
