Financial Services On-Base

Personal Financial Readiness
Fairchild AFB Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) has staff members who are certified financial counselors through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE). Counselors are available for individual/family financial counseling for guidance on your spending plan (budget), savings, TSP/retirement plans, auto purchase, off-base move, relocation planning, marriage, new baby, credit issues, emergency assistance, and more. Feel free to bring any money related questions you have. Contact 509-247-2246 for an appointment

Moving Off Base Class
Recommended at least 2 months prior to move out of dorms. Call 247-2246 to register for class. Current month class dates are posted at Fairchildfun.com/.

What to bring to the class:
  a) Completed Income & Expenses Worksheet or Comprehensive Budget Worksheet
  b) Completed Statement of Understanding (both sides)
  c) Most recent EOM LES
  d) Hardcopies of all bills, most recent credit card statements, and printout of past 60 days of bank transactions
  e) Letter from Dormitory Management (if available)
  f) If married or engaged, your spouse/fiancee is encouraged to attend

After the briefing you will be scheduled for an appointment with a financial counselor, usually same-day or the next duty day; priority is given to those who have brought all paperwork and completed required documents (see a-d above)

Tax Preparation
The Base Legal Office coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, soliciting and training volunteers and providing oversight for the program. Ideally, each squadron will have a VITA representative. To become a volunteer or to obtain a list of trained VITA volunteers, please call the Base Legal office at 509-247-2838
